The Senior Concert Band is very well known to the Hastings community and provides the musical entertainment for many community and civic occasions in the area throughout the year. It enjoys the support of the Port Macquarie Hastings Council which is keen to see the development of musical talent within the community.

Under the guidance of its Musical Director Glenn Moore and with an extensive library of varied musical scores the Band has a fine reputation for appealing to a wide range of audiences. It rehearses on Tuesday evenings between 6:30pm and 8:30pm and new players or other interested folk are always welcome to attend. Interested new players can contact Glenn, or come along on a rehearsal night.

The Band has a great tradition, as is summarised on the Band History page, and the photographs shown on the Historical Photos page show just a few of the many varied highlights throughout the Band's existence.

In 2007 the Band became the NSW Open C Grade Champions, and in 2008 also added the title of the East Coast of Australia C Grade Champions. In 2009 it again competed and received the winners shierld as NSW Open C Grade Champions.

The last few years has also seen the band host some major fund raising concerts at venue's such as the Port Macquarie Players Theatre and the Glasshouse. These concerts have often been in conjunction with other groups, such as Extreme Dance Company, Sinfonia, and the University of Newcastle Regiment Australian Army Band. These concerts were very well received by the audience, and has definitely 'set the mark' for banding concerts in the Port Macquarie Region
