$2000.00 Music Purchase Allocation to Young Guns Youth Band.

The Management Committee has recently allocated approximately $2000.00 for new music purchases for the Young Guns Youth Band in the coming year. The music purchased by these funds will go a long way towards completing establishment of a unique repertoire for this dynamic and exciting group. For the past 18 or so months, YGYCB has operated using music very kindly provided by Young Guns MD, Frank Rugers personal library. This has allowed the group to be established at a minimum expense to the overall organisation. This group has demonstrated a versatility and voracity for new music that is commendable both to the players, and to the Music Director. To that end the Committee has made this $2000.00 allocation to target music styles and arrangements to suit a youth concert band.

These funds are in addition to the normal annual music purchase allocation which funded from the Band's overheads.

The funds for this special $2000.00 allocation have been sourced from the unallocated proceeds from the Australian Army Band (Sydney) concert held in May 2009, along with returned funds allocated by the Management Committee to the Gold Coast Trip, also in 2009. In this way, we feel we are able to reward the players in this group for their hard work in establishing a new unit.

We look forward to enjoying the performance of this new music in 2010!
